The day of the move. It was really difficult to get this DKW out of the garage it was in. The space was tight, all of the tires needed air and the car was trapped by other cars and large items.
After the DKW was out of the garage a few pictures before the car hauler arrived show the overall condition. The trunk is the only really bad rust spot. A set of new taillight lenses came with the car.
The front floorboard was full of engine parts. By the time th car was loade with all the parts it was full. Could this car have 51,251 miles or has it been past 100,000?
The grill is loose and just setting on the front of the car. The bumpers show a lot of damage. The engine compartment doesn't show any damage.
We put this DKW in storage temporarily until a spot can be found. The trunk latch is broken and the passenger fender shows signs of being repainted. The rust spot on the roof looks like solvent ate the paint.
Another shot of the passenger rear fender and one of the trunk. The trunk was full of engine parts and had a DIY plywood cover over the spare tire.
The interior of the trunk looks dry and in good condition with very minor surface rust.
After everything is taken out of the interior it looks much better. The red seat covers will be removed.
The interior has all of the parts, they are just dirty. The seal for the drivers door can be seen hanging in the left picture.
The rocker panels only have a small amount of surface rust on them.
The front inner fenders both look solid and undamaged. |
